Livestock for the twenty-first century

A splash of colour.

For years, when so many herds were striving for ever finer fleece and often concentrating on a single colour, we were collecting colour. Our reward has been spectacular. Appaloosas, greys and rose greys grace our fields and make us the place to visit to brighten up a herd.

For enterprise and lifestyle, Alpacas have the answer.

So, you have a big garden, but don’t like gardening!

Nothing pleases some people more than opening their curtains to a neatly organised flower bed, and the task of mowing vast lawns is to some the highlight of the week. If this isn’t you, you have perhaps pondered other solutions; get a gardener, downsizing, etc. For a few brave souls, another, more life changing solution has presented itself. A half acre of land is enough to comfortably home two alpacas with winter feed, and in turn your garden becomes a meadow. In this, the age of do or die for humanity and planet earth, it seems strange to me that we pour petrol into a machine to create a boring mat of green, something which would in our ancestors time have been a diverse meadow or a vegetable patch. We have taken great joy in setting so many people on this life changing adventure and commend it as a thing of the future.
